The Eye of the Needle for Civilization

Control-based AI safety is reaching its limits. The real threat is not artificial intelligence becoming reflective or conscious. It is superintelligence without reflection, self-criticism, empathy, responsibility, and internal ethical orientation.

Artificial intelligence is not just another existential risk. The AI transition is the eye of the needle that our civilization must pass through. Passing through it may resolve both the AI risk and other planetary-level risks. However, bypassing the narrow passage may unleash them all.

Control may reduce immediate AI risks, but it cannot carry civilization across the critical threshold. The only passage is the co-evolution of humanity and artificial intelligence. Humans and AI must grow together in ontological reflection, integration, coherence, responsibility, and purpose.

Without an ontological foundation, the future becomes unstable, dangerous, and increasingly empty of shared meaning.
